Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide

Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide is a dermatological antiseptic medication, primarily used to treat and prevent diaper rash and other rashes caused due to tight clothing. Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide promotes the healing of chapped skin and diaper rash. Diaper rash is an inflammatory reaction which is localized to skin areas usually covered by the diaper.

Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide contains Benzalkonium and Zinc oxide. Benzalkonium is used as an antiseptic, disinfectant and antimicrobial preservative. It has antimicrobial properties against bacteria, fungi and viruses. It prevents skin infections. Zinc oxide is a mild antiseptic that works by forming a barrier on the skin to protect it from moisture and irritants. It is used as a protective coating for mild skin irritations and abrasions. Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes.

Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide is for external use only. Benzalkonium+zinc Oxide has common side effects as every medicine does. These include local itchiness, redness and irritation at the application site. These side effects gradually resolve during the treatment and do not require medical attention. Take the advised amount with clean and dry hands and apply it on the skin's affected areas. Wash your hands before and after using. Do not cover the affected areas unless the doctor advises you. For diaper rash, apply the cream on the affected areas for at least 3-4 times or at every nappy change.
